Boys & Girls Club of America has awarded a Casper business woman and Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Wyoming (BGCCW) board leader the honor of 2020 Board Member of the Year for the Wyoming Area. Jan Cundy received the award at the annual meeting of the Wyoming Area Council on October 14, 2020.
Ms. Cundy has been serving as the Board President for BGCCW for the past two years and has sat on the board for seven years. It was her leadership during this year of navigating unchartered territories that earned her this honor. When COVID forced the organization to modify its operations earlier this year, Jan led with wisdom, care, and strength. She guided a team of board members and Club professionals to collaborate on a plan to re-open safely. She worked tirelessly to be sure the Club survived the pandemic. She and her husband Brad played a key role in a food distribution program at the Club during the height of the COVID closure.
All of this was done as a volunteer while still doing her full-time job as the CFO of Keyhole Technologies based in Casper.
“I am honored and humbled to receive this award on behalf of a great team,” said Jan Cundy. “The Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Wyoming, even during an unprecedented pandemic, continued to provide our community with virtual programming and helped distribute 60,000 meals to youth while our schools were closed. In addition, we provided over 7,100 dinners to our families. So much good has been my motto throughout this time.”
“Whether it’s strategic direction, finance management, programming, generous philanthropy, and guidance, she has been the gold standard of a Wyoming trustee!” said Ashley Bright, CEO, BGCCW. “When we look back at the champions during this season, in my book we start with Jan Cundy!”
Ms. Cundy also serves as the board president for Casper College Alumni Association.
