The All-Star Basketball game took place on Saturday, March 26th
We had a great time playing basketball at the Club this winter! Throughout the season, players were evaluated for the chance to play in the All-Star game based upon their teamwork, sportsmanship, effort and attitude. Sixteen players in the 4th through 6th grade divisions participated in the All-Star game on Saturday, March 26th.
The morning of the game, athletes arrived at the club at 10am to begin practicing with their new All-Star team. For these new teams, athletes were given new jerseys–yellow for the East team, and blue for the West. Athletes spent the day practicing for the game and Pizza Ranch provided lunch for players and parents.
The All-Star game began at 4pm, and the final score was 16 to 23, the West team eeking out the victory.
Each All-Star athlete was given a medal and an award for being selected to participate in the game.
Basketball offers members the chance to engage in positive behaviors that nurture their own health and well-being. When asked about the benefits of the season, Jake Wilson, Athletic Director at the Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Wyoming stated, “Basketball is a good experience for kids the learn sportsmanship, as well as teamwork.”
Though the winter basketball season has ended, youth in 7th – 12th grades can register for summer basketball, and children from 5 – 8 years old can register for t-ball. In addition to the $10 yearly Club membership, there is a $15 registration fee.
