Box Wars 2 was a great success. It required regular attendance and dedication during the month of March to just get ready with our box armor and weapons. That month of working together, designing, measuring, cutting, taping and just being positive with each other about their box creations was a great experience for any one involved.
It also taught some of the older kids about safely cutting boxes and responsibility with cutting tools. The cool part was even parents came to help. We couldn’t have done it without the help of parents and their box donations.
The day of the War, with their parents watching from the sidelines, more than 70 kids showed great courage facing up against another army of box armored soldiers. With epic music, they charged into battle with their creations showing team work and fearlessness. Near the end, we recharged with a pizza feast (donated by Sam’s Club) and back into battle we went. By the end the kids where exhausted, the gym was a graveyard of broken armor, tape and weapons. Box Wars 2 taught team work, responsibility, design and dedication.
