He works with numbers, she with words. Together Larry and Margo Bean are a dynamic couple who have spent the better part of four decades making a difference in their community and on a global level. The Beans are the honorees for the 17th Annual Awards and Recognition Breakfast hosted by the Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Wyoming to be held Sept. 1, 2015.
Larry and Margo have touched the lives of hundreds of children and families in Wyoming through their “Love in Action” project, coordination of the American Dream Essay Contest, quiet guidance in the planning of “The Uprising” and “Global Leadership Summit”, support of Child Evangelism Fellowship and Youth for Christ, successful leadership efforts in building the new St. Anthony Tri-Parish Catholic School, inception of the NIC Children’s Center and Central Wyoming Rescue Mission.
Together with the Martin and Beers families, the Beans are assisting in the formation, construction, and development of faith-based elementary schools in Zambia and Haiti.
Margo is a former teacher and author of four children’s books about her childhood on the family’s Iowa farm. Larry is a CPA, working as a trusted adviser for the Mari Ann and John Martin family.
Larry and Margo have been married for 49 years and have four children and seven grandchildren.
The 17th Annual Awards and Recognition Breakfast also features keynote speaker Dr. Tom Osborne, famed University of Nebraska football coach and former Congressman. Additionally, the 2015-16 Youth of the Year will be chosen and awarded the Ruth R. Ellbogen education scholarship. Breakfast will be served at 6:30 a.m. with the program starting at 7 a.m. at the Casper Events Center on Tuesday, Sept. 1, 2015. There is no cost to attend, but those in attendance are expected to make a contribution to support the Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Wyoming. RSVPs are required.
