The Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Wyoming has been awarded the Bronze Leadership Award by Junior Achievement-Rocky Mountain District for empowering Club youth to own their economic success. With Junior Achievement programming, BGCCW has been able to reach kids during out of school time with important financial literacy education.
The impact of this programming influences the entire community. By bridging business and education, students are better prepared to thrive in a global economy and develop professional skills for a successful future. During summer camp, BGCCW members will be exposed to financial literacy concepts offered by JA. In August, members will participate in the Financial Literacy Carnival. During the carnival, area banks, credit unions, and investment companies will provide fun, hands-on, interactive games, to put these lifelong lessons to use.
Jessica Baxter, Vice President of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Wyoming greatly appreciates the partnership with Junior Achievement. “The grade-level programs are a perfect fit for the Club environment. We take our position as mentors and youth leaders very seriously and know that we are helping to inspire the next generation of community leaders. All of that begins with civic engagement and financial competency.”
The Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Wyoming is honored to accept the Junior Achievement award and the unique, successful partnership that has formed through this program. “The Club is so grateful for the support and collaboration of Junior Achievement in our mission of enabling all youth to become productive, responsible, caring citizens. JA has become an irreplaceable part of our Summer Camp programming!”
