Yeah, we know, it’s still summer, but fall is sneaking up on us. With fall, we get crisp morning and cool evenings, the first smell of fireplaces, and FOOTBALL!
Youngsters in Casper can get out on the gridiron through the Ultimate Flag Football League (U.F.F.L.) through the Casper Recreation Center and the Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Wyoming. It’s for boys and girls in grades K-4. Ā There are no tryouts and no one is cut. Every child is placed on a team. Please register by Sept. 3, 2014. League practices begin Sept. 15.
All league activities will be held on the outfields of George Tani and North Casper softball/baseball fields in the evenings during the week. Coaches are all volunteers. After the coaches’ meeting on Sept. 11, coaches will call players to let them know the time and place for the first practice. Parents can also get online after September 11 at www.crlasports.com and find out which team their child is on and the location of practice and games. Ā All efforts will be made to keep kids for the same school on a team unless otherwise requested. Kids will beĀ put on teams according to their grade and school. If there are not enough teams in a grade to form a division, grades will be combined accordingly. This is a recreational league with an emphasis placed on learning the basic skills of football, sportsmanship, team work, healthy lifestyles and trying new things. K-2 practices and plays on Monday and Wednesday evenings, grades 3-4 on Tuesday and Thursday evenings.
