Registration is now open for the upcoming youth basketball league at the Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Wyoming. The league is open to all boys and girls in grades Kindergarten through 6th grade.
Games and practices will be at the Boys & Girls Club gymnasiums Monday through Friday evenings with start times of 5:30, 6:30, and 7:30 p.m. varying by schedule. The season begins Monday, Jan. 23, 2017 and ends with March Madness games on Saturday, March 11, 2017.
Registration deadline is Jan. 12, 2017. The cost is $25 per child. All participants must be members of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Wyoming. Annual memberships are $10 per child. You can register at any Club site (Lincoln, Mills, Paradise Valley, or Verda James Elementary or Main Club) in Casper. You can download a registration form here.
With more than 250 kids expected to register, volunteer coaches are needed to make the season a success. Experience is not required, but a general knowledge of the sport is helpful. Coaching is more than teaching a sport. It’s being a trusted mentor for youth and being able to instill a sense of good sportsmanship in the players.
If you have any questions about the league or would like to volunteer to coach, contact Jake Wilson at (307) 235-5694 ext. 3.
