Academic Success is a key cornerstone of programming offered to youth at the Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Wyoming. A former pro football player is looking to enhance learning at Casper’s Main Club by renovating a portion of the Club to encourage reading. Andre Reed is a Pro Football Hall of Fame inductee, playing 16 seasons in the NFL. Long before he was a football player, he was a Club kid in his hometown of Allentown, PA. It was his time in the Club that inspired him to establish the Andre Reed Foundation in 2010 “to help underprivileged children reach their full potential and become responsible contributors to their communities.”

Mr. Reed is the featured speaker at BGCCW’s annual Awards & Recognition Breakfast on Oct. 21, 2020. While he is in Casper, he will spend time in the Club with a team of volunteers renovating a portion of the Learning Center into a “Read with Reed” zone. This project aligns with his literacy program that encourages children to read 83 books for a chance to win a trip to an NFL game with him.
Attendees at the Awards & Recognition Breakfast will also have a chance to bid on an exclusive NFL game experience with Andre Reed. The opportunity includes a weekend in Buffalo, NY, for two people to be the guest of Mr. Reed at a Buffalo Bills football game in the 2021 season. It includes a Jim Kelly tailgate experience, dinner, airfare, and hotel. Plus, winners will meet former Wyoming Cowboys and Buffalo Bills quarterback, Josh Allen. This package will be auctioned at the Breakfast on Oct. 21. Proceeds from this special auction will benefit academic success programming at the 10 Club sites operated by BGCCW.
Reserve a seat at the 22nd Annual Awards & Recognition Breakfast online bgccw.org/breafkast20 or call (307) 235-4079. Reservations are required, but there is no cost to attend. Those in attendance will be expected to make a contribution support youth served at the Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Wyoming.
