Her job takes her to the sidelines of high school football games, onto the field at War Memorial Stadium, and alongside some of the top athletes in the state. As a television sports reporter, Megan Salle has daily deadlines and sometimes long hours.

Once a week, for a few hours, she puts it all away. It’s that one day where Megan can let loose and be silly. That day is when she volunteers at the Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Wyoming.

“It’s good to get out of your comfort zone and challenge yourself to do something completely different outside of your career,” said Megan.

Her time in the Club has her playing games with the kids, giving a comforting hug when the moment is a little too much, creating crafts, or just being a friend.

Megan says she wanted to volunteer at the Club to encourage and help kids to stay active and to use their imaginations.

“I really enjoy their excitement about little things and the love they show me when I walk in the door.”
