As a leader in youth development programming, the Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Wyoming takes pride in the professional staff and leadership that work to reach all kids who need it most, helping them develop skills and abilities to become caring, responsible, and productive citizens.
Each year, staff are recognized for their drive and dedication through service awards and awards nominated by their peers.
The following were honored at the 13th Annual Staff Appreciation and Program Honor Awards:
  Youth Development MVP – Daniel Uptain, Social/Rec Coordinator, Main Club

Daniel is an outstanding youth development professional who demonstrates world class quality programming. The number of programs and activities he runs is unbelievable – chess club, junior staff, passport to manhood, cooking club, bike shop, daily games room tournaments, hour of awesomeness, and so much more. He mentors kids, creates fun and engaging programs, and helps to maintain a positive environment for all members
When accepting his award, Daniel said, “I love coming to work every day. It’s really rewarding to be able to give kids the tools they need to become successful members of society.”
PSC All-Star – Corin Knowles, Resource Development/Marketing Coordinator

Corin is a true expert in her field as the Club’s graphic designer and marketing coordinator. She is the go-to person for Google, DonorPerfect and BidPal. She is always willing to collaborate, lead, and make projects shine with her artistry, organization, positive attitude, and solution-oriented work ethic. Corin is efficient, effective, and mission minded as she encourages the Club to step outside its comfort zone to follow advances in technology and branding to better serve Club youth, their families and its investors.
Rookie of the Year – April Crider, Finance Assistant, Buffalo & Kaycee Clubs

April is a willing, helpful, smiling member of the team. Her smiling face greets everyone who enters the Club. Whether is be Club members, staff, community members or guests, she makes them feel at home. She takes on new duties willingly and steps up to help even without being asked. The “BGCCW Way” shines through everything April does.
Wilma English Award – Beth Herden, Director, Lincoln Club

Beth has been described as helpful, kind, willing, and creative. She strives to find way to reach kids even when they are difficult. She uses her creativity to mix things up and try new projects to keep interest and engagement high. Beth is flexible and always willing to jump in and help whenever and wherever she is needed. She leads the Club’s Discover Days programming, seeking out staff, planning lessons and interfacing with the school district. She has planned dozens of Discover Days reaching more than 2,500 students. Beth is also a valuable contributor to WyoTowne, giving sometimes 3 days a week to the youth. For the past 10 years, Beth has given 100% of herself for the betterment of our member’s lives and their experience in the Club.
“When I came to work for the Club, I was between teaching jobs and I thought I would be here for just a little bit. This experience has truly changed my life and I wouldn’t want to work anywhere else,’ said Beth.
