“Rebecca takes initiative, plans ahead and is very creative. The kids love her fun and inventive activities and projects. Her cheerful disposition brings energy to the Club.”
Q. How long have you worked at the Boys & Girls Club?
Almost a year. I started working at the Verda James branch at the beginning of last school year in September 2015.
Q. What made you want to work at the Club?
All the fun and I love working with kids. Why not have a job I love going to every day and get paid to play games?
Q. What one lesson have you learned being immersed in the Club?
I’ve learned you have to let things go. Sometimes the day might not go how you’d like it to go. You just have to roll with it and be happy.
Q. What is your favorite part of the day?
My favorite part of the day is getting to work. Nothing beats walking in the door and having the kids run up to you with “good mornings” and hugs.
Q. If you had to explain to someone who may not be familiar with what happens at the Club, how would you explain it?
I’d tell them the Club is a safe environment the kids can go to hangout with friends and get help with their school work. Who wouldn’t want to make a ton of new friends and play awesome games?
Q. Tell us more about you.
I was born and raised in Casper. I don’t really ever want to leave. I am going back to college in the fall to finish my degree in social work and elementary education.
Q. Tell us one interesting fact about you.
I was in gymnastics for 12-13 years and also coached for 2 years.
