In Wyoming, twenty percent of high schoolers will not graduate on time or graduate at all. To keep a cap and gown as a goal, the Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Wyoming utilizes the “Graduate for Mas” program through the Taco Bell Foundation for Teens. This program encourages teens to make a pledge to graduate from high school and supplements that promise with college and career planning and advice.
On Friday, May 27, 2016, teens will be recognized at a “Graduate for Mas” Celebration to be held at the Main Branch of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Wyoming. These teens will be celebrated for successfully completing another year of school and moving on to the next grade level. The celebration begins at 7 p.m. in the Teen Center.
“Through this program, we can encourage teens to continue on their educational path and help them focus on one grade level at a time. Eventually, they can see that graduation from high school is completely within their grasp,” said Chris Stier, Teen Center Director, BGCCW.
