Featuring Cowboys’ Football Legend Jay Novacek
The Brighter Futures’ Dinner will take place at 6pm on Tuesday, May 23, 2023, at the Boys & Girls Club of Glenrock (100 S. 6th Street). There will be an impact auction with chances to win exclusive experiences and items.
Keynote speaker, Jay Novacek, starred in football at the University of Wyoming fro1982-1984, earning All-American honors and winning the WAC title in 1984. Novacek was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame in 2008 and University of Wyoming Athletics Hall of Fame. He enjoyed a successful 11-year career with the Cardinals and Dallas Cowboys. He was an integral part of legendary Cowboys’ teams that won three Super Bowls. During his time in Dallas, Novacek was one of the leading tight ends in football and was named to five Pro Bowls in addition to being named a first-team All-Pro in 1992. In total for his NFL career, Novacek caught 422 passes for 4,630 yards and 30 touchdowns.
The Boys & Girls Club of Glenrock is growing rapidly and offers enriching programming in the priority outcome areas of academic success, good character & citizenship and healthy lifestyles. The Club has an annual operating budget of $225,000 and serves youth after school, on no-school days, and during the summer. The Club also offers Career Works’ vocational training to Glenrock high school students.
